The hair loss was mainly located in his frontal scalp and mid-scalp region, while his hair on the back and sides of his head remained relatively dense by comparison. This is typical of male pattern baldness.

2002 to 2005

Around this time, a remarkable and visible change was observed. His hair loss appears to have stopped, and he now has a thick head of hair where it was previously lost.

The change here is likely not due to medical treatment, as that is only able to slow down hair loss and not full hair recovery, as seen at this stage of Musk’s hair loss.

2012 onwards

The level of results seen at this time is likely a combination of undergoing a hair transplant and starting medication to slow down further hair loss.
