Actor James Nesbitt is no stranger to being in the public eye with his TV and film work. So it is no surprise that when he started to lose his hair, people began to notice. We take a look at James Nesbitt’s hair transplant in this article.
Nesbitt, who first found stardom in the hit TV series Cold Feet, admitted that it became "practically an obsession", to such an extent that he felt it could affect his career prospects.
Having agonised over the matter and given it plenty of thought, he decided to visit a hair transplant clinic and has been "very pleased" with the results.
In a patient testimonial in 2017, after his second hair transplant brought an amazing transformation, he said: "I’d go as far as to say they’ve changed my life."
James Nesbitt hair transplant before and after
James was showing signs of baldness around his temples, with a receding hairline and thinning on top towards the crown, but this has been totally restored.
One of the most popular treatments for baldness is an FUE hair transplant (follicular unit extraction).
This procedure involves the removal of individual follicular unit grafts from the back and side of the scalp. These are then replanted in the balding or thinning areas, which are prepared using a fine needle.
It's a method that has the advantage of minimal scarring. Patients tend to be left with a collection of red pinpricks where hairs have been extracted and replanted, but these usually disappear within a couple of weeks. You can find out more about the FUE patient journey here.
FUE is particularly effective for patients who like to have their hair short or shaved.

In 2019, the Daily Mirror reported that James was planning to have a sixth hair transplant.
Looking at photographs of the Northern Ireland-born actor in this article, they illustrate how his hair, which was thinning and receding, has changed dramatically, giving him an impressive full head of hair.
It's clear to see that a hair transplant allows the hair to grow, move and feel the way it used to. This is why it is so important to find the right surgeon to conduct your procedure as it is as much an art as it is surgery to ensure your hair looks as natural as possible.
